Project Description
This project involves the detailed design and construction of some 0.70km of new link road at Balbriggan, Co. Dublin. The road will serve an new urban quarter in Balbriggan along the Naul Road serving schools and residential development, as well as future commercial and retail developments. The Boulevard Road is to be delivered in 3 Phases. The road consists of a 6.5m wide road with 2.0m grass swale, 1.5m cycle track, 1.5m wide footpaths. The works in Phase 1 also included a signalised ‘Toucan’ pedestrian crossing and culverting and diversion of an existing stream with a 2.4m wide x 0.8m high precast concrete culvert, wing walls and headwall. The project also included all utility services covering power, comms, street lights, storm, foul and water main services. MPA were providing tender / construction design as well as post planning compliance, taking in charge & PSDP services.
Included in the projects are all necessary SuDS measure including swales, detention basins, downstream defenders, petrol interceptors and attenuation tanks, along with connections to arterial drainage network and main sewers. The works were carried out in an area where preconstruction archaeological works were undertaken including geophysical surveys and excavation and preservation by record.
