Kilkenny Cinema

This project involves the development of a new Multiplex cinema consisting of a 1,444 seats, entrance foyer and associated ancillary accommodation, totalling 4,225m² Gross Floor Area. Included in the development is a new Pedestrian Street and Public Realm. The new pedestrian street will extend from Barrack Street to a new Public Square and onto join the new Central Access Scheme (CAS). The public realm includes provision for seating, hard landscaping and Bicycle parking spaces.

A new vehicular entrance will be formed onto Barrack Street leading to a new surface car park with 85 car parking spaces. Provision is being made within the scheme for a vehicular entrance to CAS. The project is the first phase of a redevelopment of a 13 acres site in Kilkenny City and will include provision for the development of a future high level pedestrian route linking existing residential and retail areas to the site along the old railway corridor. The drainage scheme used SUDs measure throughout including permeable paving and infiltration devices.
