We are delighted at MPA Consulting Engineers to announce a significant addition to the Company Directors with Eddie Quann CEng MIEI taking over the role of Director of Civil & Structural Engineering. Eddie will take on the role from Martin Peters and will continue to provide our best-in-class Engineering Consultancy services to all of our clients and will now lead the further development of our Civil & Structural division ably supported by the rest of the team at MPA Consulting Engineers.

Extension, Mac Trans Freight Ltd., Belvedere, Tycor, Waterford

MPA are delighted to have been involved in this fine extension to Mac Trans Freight in Waterford, the building which has a very striking look was designed by C J Falconer & Associates and offers a very interesting take on warehouse buildings. The project involved the construction of a new storage warehouse building including first floor office space, two loading docks and marshalling yard.

 

Irish Planning Institute Awards 2020

Irish Planning Institute Awards – Best Practice Guidelines for Cluster Housing Schemes

We are happy to announce that our collaborative project with Kenneth Hennessy Architects, Tipperary County Council and Studio Townland has been shortlisted in two categories – Design Category and Plan Making Category in the upcoming Irish Planning Institute Awards which will be held in February 2020.  MPA were involved in the preparation of these guidelines providing a five step approach to design and developing cluster housing schemes in rural towns and villages.  The guidelines provide advice on choosing the right site to solutions for waste water treatment as well as landscaping, traffic and access.

Fit Out Awards 2019 Winner

Athy Library – Fit Out Project of the Year Public Sector Award

MPA are delighted to announce that the new library in Athy town that opened on the 3rd of May 2018 has won the Fit Out Project of the Year Public Sector Award at the recent “Fit Out Awards 2019” held on the 27th November 2019 in Dublin.

This €3.75m project was funded by Kildare County Council and the Irish Government.  The building has been completely transformed from the former Dominican Church into a modern, inviting and inspiring place for community members to enjoy.

Minister Launches Tipperary Best Practice Guidelines for Cluster Housing Schemes in Rural Villages

Martin Peters recently attended the official launch by the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Damien English of the Design and Best Practice Guidelines for Cluster Housing Schemes in Rural Villages April 2019.  The guidelines were prepared by a multi-disciplinary team including MPA Consulting Engineers, Kenneth Hennessy Architects, The Planning Partnership and Studio Town Land.  MPA covered aspects of transport and access, site assessment, drainage and SuDS.   These guidelines provide a five step approach to design and developing cluster housing schemes, providing advice from choosing the right site to solutions for waste water treatment systems and landscaping.  The guidelines have placed a particular focus on case studies which provide practical advice on design, engineering issues and landscaping and how schemes can be enhanced by using the natural and built features of the site.

Contract Signing – New Fire Station for Urlingford

The contract for the design team for the new Fire Station for Urlingford was officially signed by Chief Executive, Colette Byrne and Martin Peters of Martin Peters Associates Ltd. Consulting Engineers in the presence of Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, Cllr. Eamon Aylward and Elected Members of the Castlecomer Municipal District on Monday 1st April 2019
